lel- lighten up about runway shows, man. You can take influence from color combinations, proportions, silhouettes, styling choices, textures, or other things from the runway shows even if the look itself isn't 100% safe wearable. With some confidence and not worrying about others judging, a lot of runway looks are much much more wearable than people think.

Prorsum - Yeah that's how I generally feel, nice and very expensive.

Jil - Agree, but I didn't want to bring back older runways. Overall I guess I didn't enjoy it so much.

Margiela - I've just always liked MMM, I like his use of colors, proportions, patterns, etc. Unfortunately I don't think his clothes run as trim as I need them too/doesn't make stuff in my size.

I know, I am only partially serious. I do enjoy looking at some collections, some do inspire me, but most I just feel indifferent to. I'm pretty bored with my current wardrobe so I'm looking for anything that gets me interested.

With how tiny you are, lel, it may be worth trying to play with volume and different proportions than the standard hedi slimane slim stuff all the time. You're skinny/tall enough to pull a lot of it off well, and it may be easier than finding xxxs in cheap and mid market brands over overpaying for hedi-era dior stuff that fits slim enough for you

I'm very interested in playing around with volume, proportions, and drape but right now money is more of an issue than size. Given an indefinite amount of money, I think I would experiment with trying to create a Rainbow GothNinja look, but I'm too undecided right now to stick with any particular looks I like. D&G Great white tennis-esque sweater paired with a busy bottom. I can dig the concept, and the sweater's nice. Dolce and Gabanna

I'm actually surprised that you can put an Oriental-esque themed all over print on a suit jacket and not have it come off as Ed Hardy trash. While I think a better theme would suit it better, I like the look and sheen of the jacket material, it looks luxurious. I see it as similar to the all over patterns of Jil (marble) and Margiela (brick). Surprisingly it's not a bad look, though I would personally refine the theme better. Gucci What can I say? I love this outfit. I like how the loudness of the shirt is covered up by a relatively conservative ensemble. I even like the matching flower pattern on the shoes, its a nice touch and a look I wouldn't mind wearing (Gucci or not).

Strikes me as Margiela, minus the matching print on the jacket sleeve. I especially like the dye job on the pants (not sure of the proper term) its kind of a nice and noticeable, but quiet effect. Jacket is sick and I don't mind the tee underneath it either, overall it works well even though on paper I think the elements would clash too much. I think it's because the boots/belt tie the look together and grounds it, matching leathers and such.

I just like the concept of a multi-dyed leather jacket. I'm indifferent towards this one, but I see potential in the concept, just with different colors/patterns and possibly a different jacket style all together. But still, concept potential. Yohji Yamamoto

Can't say I enjoyed his runway, I think it's interesting, but wow Japanese designers always look fantastic in their own stuff. I like how "cheap" his outfit looks. It has a nice used, dirty feel to it, like he's actually lived in it. It doesn't feel designer at all, but natural (to him). Perhaps that is part of his charm. I've seen Yohji style a couple times and IMO it works best on him, though that's not to say that other examples haven't looked great either.

My reading specialist professor is this small older asian guy and i always thought he'd look amazing in some yohji. I was always jealous because he could pull that **** off so much better than i if he knew about it. My friend thought i was crazy for thinking of designers being perfect for professors. She agreed after seeing yohji collections though.

I had a TA who I thought should be completely decked out in EG, he was a bigger guy and had a beard. And I live in the Northwest.

I don't have pics, they were a grey leather antiqued wingtip. Came in a blue too. Super nice and classic. I ordered them, will post if and when they get my size at the SF store. I really want a 2 button YSL suit, the faded blue jeans and a safari jacket.

I'm actually surprised that Alessandro Dell'Acqua haven't been mentioned. The proportions and concept is spot on even if some pieces and the colourway is kind of off. Anyway, this stuff reminds of MM and it looks pretty nice. I have no idea where you can buy this stuff and at what price but it looks really nice.

Gucci was also pretty good, I especially liked the pants and the bags. Boots and jewelery is pretty cool too. This is some of my favourite looks:

See them more as inspiration. Nobody in their right mind would wear 100% Gucci. The silhouette and some of the pieces are cool.

I wonder how possible it is to find a Burberry Prorsum trench at a steep discount. I'd love to pick up a nice for late winter/early spring. I was thinking of going Juun J as that's his signature item, but even moreso I'd love to get ahold of an iconic Burberry Prorsum item, especially during its peak years.

You know you've looked through too many mens and female runway shows when you start being able to name other shows the model has been in

I love runway shows, they are the most honest way for the designer to express himself, as he/she has full control over what happens, how the clothes look (what models) and how he wants to convey his line before it gets sent out into the world. As for not liking the looks due to impracticality, runway looks aren't meant to be practical. You are meant to get the feel for the designer, inspiration from what is shown. Obviously, if you like the line you won't be buying entire looks, a few articles at best, that should be taken into consideration when judging runway shows. Anyway, here are my favourites. There are certainly too many, but I couldn't narrow them down and each designer has something to show. These are from www.nymag.com . agnès b. homme
