This is a game. And the point of this game is to match. In this challenge, you will wear a single pattern more than once. Double glen plaid. Triple black watch. Quadruple stripe. You will wear a jacket. Tie, pocket square, and socks are optional.

Details:

1) At least one single pattern must be used more than once.

2) A 2 pc or 3 pc suit in any configuration does not count.

3) The patterns do not have to be perfect matches e.g. two different colored ginghams is ok.

4) Matching socks, while admirable, will not count unless it is a triple match or more.

I feel quite vain using pictures of myself as examples, but I couldn't find any that fit the challenge.

Shirt and pocket square.

Jacket and Pocket square.

Tie and pocket square.

Entry closes at midnight EST on Friday. Poll closes on Monday at noon EST. Multiple votes will be allowed. Any conforming fit worn and posted to this thread between now and midnight Friday is eligible.

Finally, I highly encourage a full body shot and a detail shot of the matching. Let's go.

Quadruple Argyll and Sutherland Highlander regimental stripe.

the premise of this challenge is to dress badly?
Stripe shirt and wide-striped tie is dressing badly? Or pinstriped suit and wide-striped tie?

I was under the impression you can have the same pattern as long as it's varied quite a bit, and it's still in good taste.

The premise of the challenge is two wear two or more of the same pattern.

Your conclusion is that it means to dress badly.

The purpose of the challenge to try something you don't normally do and see if you can make it look good.
Do you have the skill to make it look good or do you think it's impossible?

Interesting. Stripe combining will be the obvious go-to, but the subversive part of me dearly wishes that I had a polka dot shirt or jacket...

Nawh. The pants are glen plaid, the shirt is a check, and the jacket is a random plaid. Different scales of glen plaid or check are fine, but they need to be the same pattern.

My impression was that you have to have the same pattern thus requiring them to be the same size. Which generally is in bad taste:

Where in this image are you wearing the same pattern? tie and watch band?
Yeah, watch band and tie. I'm not crazy about the pocket square and vest match. Respect.
I do think double stripes is the easiest thing to do here. Pinstripe jacket/suit and bengal stripe shirt is pretty good.

Agreed on that clap. Same size is bad taste. He didn't specify same size, though his examples indicate it. He said any size works.

I'm sure something like a silk knit striped tie with a striped shirt would do. And I do have both of these. But I'm finding out, while searching for matches, I'm not actually a fan of this. I like a two pattern deal, non-repeating.

Hence, the challenge. I'm sure you can come up with something good.
