Football with no helmuts?

These guys don't wear helmets and seem to go completely ******* insane less often. Maybe they're on to something.

Would be like boxing without gloves. Without gloves boxers can go 100 rounds; no sense bashing the other guy in a bony place and risk breaking your hand. With gloves the sport is much more brutal.

Football would become a better, different game without the crash helmets, but it might take a long time for coaches, players, and fans to adjust to the change. And to prevent cauliflower ear the players would need to wear at least wrestling-style helmets, which could probably be built into leather throwback jobbies.

I've read that rugby players get more injuries in total and broken bones is typically what happens.

Football results in the more severe ones such as spine and ACL.

I tend to agree as I've watched a lot of MMA. MMA seems much less brutal than boxing with the grappling. Also seems more strategic.
