I e-mailed Acorn about these claims and here is their reply:
Thank you for your e-mail. This is completely untrue, as we are still weaving in the UK, however some of our fabrics are then finished in Europe. This is because the Finishing Facilities within the UK are not up to the standard we require. But we have never produced or plan to produce in Asia or the Far East. There are a number of individuals including competition who benefit from spreading these rumours. Kind Regards James Chatburn Acorn Fabrics (Cumbria) Ltd 13 Kenyon Rd. Lomeshaye Estate, Nelson. Just curious, did the Hemrajani bros drop their names and just go with "mytailor.com" brand now? My recent deliveries were not branded in anyways, lacking the Hemrajani tag underneath the collar. It does come with a tab sticker at the front end of the shirt which that has my order date, name, "mytailor.com" and the "custom made Hong Hong" letters. I actually like it this way but just curious about the change.

beautiful shirt... oddly - why do you have them put a tag on? I hate tags.. I love the fact that bespoke makers can leave them off...

That 100% linen looks to be a pain **********... just sayin'

Heck if I know. It wasn't by my request, and they don't do this for cotton shirts. Perhaps it's to say, "Look at me. I'm made of linen, and I'm a very special shirt."

The idea is to let your cleaners know. Though I don't see the point, as linen should just be laundered and pressed like cotton. Still, I have some linen shirts that have a "Dry Clean Only" tag, which I ignore.

Is there any manufacturer who does not recommend that linen be dry cleaned?
