Finding stationery

I'm trying to find a better-quality grade of personal stationery. Plain white with a nice weave perhaps. PLAIN white. Not with a monogram, not with a color line surrounding it, no image overlay. Imagine a piece of resume paper cut in half horizontally to give you two 5.5 by 8.5 sheets. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about.

Why am I not able to find this? Do the stationers no longer go for minimalist?

If anyone HAS found this anywhere, I'd be much obliged to know where. I live in New York, but the post office still works.

For something that basic, Crane should work. Order online at crane.com or at a shop like Kate's Paperie in Soho. You might also check out http://www.finestationery.com.

For something fancier, consider Rossi 1931 or Fabriano, both from Italy.
