Over time I think I would prefer the tan. My otter green 256 just seems to be fading.

Mine too, but the leather on the navy is inferior and the canvas besides being thinner attracts lint and dust like a magnet.

Inferior? Thinner? Wut? Should be the same specs as the other 3 colors.

Sometimes the third-party make ups are made to a different standard. For example, I have been told the Apolis/Filson black 256 is actually made with a different, thinner, material than the rugged twill that the Filson is typically made from.

I got the OG since it's my EDC and I figure it will get dirty faster so I wanted the darker colour to help it from looking too beat up. I also didn't go with the tan because I feel like it stands out more than the OG.

This is correct, but the conversation was revolving around Unionmade's new navy offerings (the Filson 256 and one of the totes), which should be exactly like the other colors in terms of build and quality since they're not collabs or anything.

That was me, and I should be getting the bag (and an Archival Clothing field bag) tomorrow, assuming weather doesn't interfere.

I hope haiglarsen is right. I won't know how the Unionmade compares to regular Filson as I don't currently own any Filson.

Either way, I'll definitely post some pictures and impressions of both bags.

adq, if you're getting the bag that was part of their Indigo capsule, then it's going to be a lighter weight version than the standard briefcase twill.

Right, but I think that Tomatic was referring to the Unionmade one and not the Apolis one as he quoted someone referring to the Unionmade one.

I was actually referring to the original navy/blue edition with the cream/bright leather. I also own the Apolis which is indeed made of thinner canvas but after I've waxed it and added a handle grip I'm very happy with it.
