Cross posting from reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/goodyearwe...bonafe_return_of_the_dark_cognac_shell_black/

Looking to do another run of the dark cognac/black shark Balway

Make-up:

  • Upper: Dark Cognac Cordovan
  • Shaft: Black Shark
  • Last: 363 mod
  • Sole: Dainite
  • Edging: Black
  • Welt: 360 chain norvegese
  • Lining: Black calf
  • Pull tabs: No
  • Eyelets: 5 eyelets and 4 speedhooks in small gold (bright brass)
Reach out to me here, or on reddit (/u/litterbug21) if you're interested!

May I suggest sure you specify if you're doing the Balway pattern or the jumper pattern used on the previous run. I personally think the Balway or 3571 patterns would be a really great deviation from the original. If I didn't already have a shell balway incoming I'd be in on this.

Good luck!

Looking to do a Reverse Kudu Slipper if there is any interest.

Inspiration from https://www.instagram.com/p/BX-z5JFDckk/?taken-by=solegarb

Makeup:
  • Last: 804
  • Construction: Blake
  • Sole: Leather
  • Welt: Natural
  • Color: From left to right:
Noix, beaverfur, tortora, gaucho and stone

  • Price $440

Personally I'm looking at Noix, Gaucho or Stone for the color. Though I'm up for suggestions on everything.

Is anyone interested in the following:

1) austerity balmoral boot
2) Aubergine calf / plum museum or Vitello meleze or Vitello Nero
3) 804 last or 100556
4) flat 270 handwelt (maybe rounded waist)
5) any sole
6) blind eyelets.

Through Solegarb. If we can line it up quick, we can get 10% off...

Here's the model I'm thinking of. Also open to makeup suggestions.

I've been thinking of a burgundy/plum museum balmoral boot through either EB or Carmina.

1.) Semi-Brogue or Quarter Brogue Balmoral Boot
2.) Claret or Plum Museum
3.) 804 Last
4.) Flat wheeled 270 handwelt (Japanese waist). Black edge
5.) Single Leather JR Sole
6.) Blind Eyelets

Might be open to switching to an austerity pattern

I could go perf cap but I'm kinda against the long lateral balmoral seam.

I can only wear Carmina in the Detroit last. Would that work for an oxford boot? I guess so. Would prefer Bonafe though. Want to join?

I could also compromise on the eyelets, black exposed (smaller ones), but prefer blind.

Not a problem with me. What other bal boot patterns has EB done? I'm fine with a plain perf cap as well.

Yup. Down for Bonafe.

No compromise necessary! I said blind not black haha.

General question - is it possible to get a slightly trimmer hand welt? EB's standard handwelt protrudes a little, which I think clashes with a rounded/Japanese waist a bit - I'd prefer a sleeker look here without having to give up the handwelt. Not a deal breaker though.

I'm starting up a new GMTO through Solegarb, which hopefully we'll get in by the end of September so we take advantage of the 10% September GMTO discount. Myself and another are committed, so we only need 2 more.

Black Shark Wholecut Tassel Loafer

These will be modeled with the following Bemer's as inspiration (Enzo has a wholecut tassel model and Lorenzo is looking up the model number for us):

Instead of dark brown elephant, they will be in black topgrain shark:

So the full specs are:

* Model: Wholecut Loafer w/ Tassel

* Leather: Black Topgrain Shark

* Welt: Black -- Handwelted with Japanese waist, see: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...tingray-946-Last-3_1024x1024.jpg?v=1493214353

* Sole: Single leather

* Last: 946

* Cost: $733 (50% up front, 50% on delivery) during September.

If you're interested send me a message. We only need 2 more!

So from what I've briefly read, Bonafe can do a handwelt with a Bombe waist, which goes for the sleekness of the Japanese waist, without having to switch to a Blake stitch at the waist. So that's actually what we'd be looking for on this.

If you want some comparison shots, my Enzo stingray wholecuts have a bombe waist:

While my Enzo black captoes have the blake japanese waist:

You can see the blake Japanese waist is cut pretty much flush to the leather, while the Bombé waist still has stitching and is not quite as close.

Thanks! I like the look of both, but as Peppercorn initially proposed a 270 handwelt, my preference will lean that way as well.

But good reference for the future!

I'm kinda interested while:
1. Can we do handwelted; and
2. On a different last? (Perhaps a chiselled one)

Thanks

I'm open to changing the last but I don't know about chiselled, 363mod had been thrown around. I can ask about the price for Hand stitched and see if the other people would be up for a last change.

I am interested. How many people do you have right now ? Any possibility of doing a 360 welt ?

Love everything else about this make up.
