Stupid question time from a relative newbie. I just received my new pair of Dark Oak Chelseas (ok they arrived a week ago but look so beautiful I've been reticent to take them for a spin yet, just ogle them on the mantlepiece each evening). The look great out of the box and were only just made in mid Dec. Do I need to give them a fresh polish before taking them out or is the factory treatment good enough to protect them for the time being?

No need to polish unless the leather looks noticeably dry, which I doubt it does.

I generally give my new shoes and boots a light polish, not because I need to, but because I generally find the factory polish job to be less than exceptional.

I've just returned back to Mr Porter a pair of Galway's in dark utah UK 8.5 E on the 82 last. Unfortunately too tight for me.
They were 40% off at £705.
Just a heads up for anyone to own the shoe at a great price.
I'll sure Mr Porter will re-list them.
Kind regards

I have a pair of EGs that will need to be resoled/refurbished soon. Does anyone know of a good shoemaker in Toronto that could handle this?

I would search through the Toronto thread. Last I remember reading there isn't anyone in Toronto who can do a goodyear welt resole. The best options were a shop in Vancouver, one in Montreal and I believe Sudbury. I believe @suitforcourt has reviewed some if not all. An international option without sending back to EG was B Nelson in New York.
