Mr. Porter has 1 pair of brown suede Belgravias in UK10 on sale for $680.25 with code FLASH25. Wee bit too small for me, else I would have grabbed them for myself!

Not that I’m in the market for more shoes or that they fit me (they don’t) but, from my end, it says they’re 1015. 25% off would still be more than 750.

Am I missing something? Maybe Mr. Porter has me flagged as someone who will pay more

I suspect you are seeing US sales tax in your price.

I am shopping from Canada, and my starting price is US$906.50 and an extra 25% off = US$680 after the code.

What an amazing model, first time I see it. I thought EG only had Montpellier as a full strap loafer, but that one looks stunning. Am in the process of setting up a loafer MTO with The Hand, and I though I initially planned for the Montpellier I guess the Barksdale would look great in whiskey crup 😏

The Barksdale is a Ralph Lauren private label model, so it is not available directly from Edward Green, but I am sure I have seen a very, very similar full strap Penny loafer in old Edward Green catalogues. As others have mentioned, EG is happy to make any of their old models MTO. Just ask for what full strap loafers they have on the 100 last.

By the way, here is a pair of Whiskey Barksdales that were in the B&S here about 10 years ago:

My contribution to the R1/R2 discussion. My first pair on R2 landed today as I just took possession of these beauties. Absolutely flawless build & craftsmanship. Quite pleased……….

Much thanks guys. EG describes these as aubergine london grain & burgundy cordovan. Still an EG neophyte so I don’t know what aubergine london grain is but it feels as nice as it looks.

The Barksdale is basically a modified Winchelsea. This model was offered by RL off and on when they sold Edward Green shoes; it was most frequently available in Edwardian, as well as dark oak, black, and suede. The skin stitch is limited to the very tiptoe of the shoe vs the Winchelsea, which has a full skin stitch around the vamp, and the Winchelsea is a half strap. All of these variations on the theme are nice: Winchelsea, Sloane, Buxton, Harrow, etc. The 100 and 101 lasts are narrow. Enjoy your new shoes!

aubergine is British English for 'eggplant.' Shades of purple.
London grain is the stamping pattern on the leather.

Your boots look amazing and I'm jealous.
