I think my favorite part is the lighter welt. I have a pair in burgundy Utah but it's closer to a black welt

It’s starting to feel like summer now. EG Portland in blue suede.

Beautiful color, even if not typical Sienna. Is that a rubber layer sandwiched with a leather outsole? I didn't know EG had such a sole if so.
No but I can see it looks like that. Just the shading of the leather sole. EG do offer a rubber mid sole paired with a rubber outsole. I guess you could ask for a rubber midsole and leather outsole as an MTO.

I thought R2 and Dianite were both leather midsoles (at half height I think). It shouldn't be soling leather either since it's not meant to be worn into. I would he happy to be corrected.

That’s right. R2 and Danite normally have leather mid soles. My Dover’s have double leather soles. I have two Cardiff’s which have rubber mid soles and Danite outsoles. It is possible to have a rubber midsole with a leather outsole as some find that more comfortable but it’d need to be an MTO

Hi, guys. N00b question: Will my new Piccadilly loafers stretch (vertically) in the area under the strap? I.e. the instep. Talked to a cobbler who said he could stretch that area. Have any of you had success doing this?

Thanks.

I found my Piccadailly a little tight under the strap at first and they have stretched out pretty well. As long as it doesn't feel so tight as to be binding, I think you'll be alright.
