Does a suede belt work with jeans?

I know suede is generally considered to be a more casual fabric but is a slim suede belt still too dressy to wear with jeans?

(you can't see them too fully here but the jeans are slim and quite dark).

I like to wear jeans with a sports coat for casual but making-an-effort occasions but not sure whether I can wear a belt like this or should stick to a thicker belt like I'd wear if I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

Looks good to me, especially with the buckle being rounded and therefore a bit more casual than something with a rectangular buckle. Also the gold tone of the buckle makes the belt suitable for quite casual outfits such as this.

it works well , i've noticed suede will pick up indigo from dark denim , you may want to dedicate the belt to jeans so you don't get transfer if you notice the same .
