I have a very nice pair of Clarks Desert Boots in "beeswax", which I have worn maybe 5-10 times, that won't stop bleeding brownish-reddish colour onto the inside of my trouser legs. This is especially noticeable with rolled up beige chinos or jeans.

I would appreciate any advice on how to make these shoes stop bleeding colour onto my trousers. I googled and saw some people recommending hairspray but this seems really weird to me and potentially ruining my shoes.
