Decisions, decisions (Shoe choice help please)

Ok so I've decided it's time to get a pair of good quality shoes; or at least better quality than my last few pairs of Cole Haan's. I've narrowed it down to a few choices and I was hoping for feedback between the options listed. It's something I want to keep in my wardrobe for years to come. Also because I wear a suit and tie everyday they will be in my regular rotation of shoes. Probably wearing 1-2 times a week at most. I"m a huge fan of that light tan colour (hence all the choices). My main concern is the quality of the shoe itself. Any help would be appreciated. I've done some searching and the brands all seem to have a good reputation.. My list so far: Loake 1880 - Buckingham

Barker - Anniversary & International Handcrafted Collection - Chopin

Barker - Professional - Flynn

Grenson - Dylan

Crockett & Jones - Wigmore

I'm not sure I can give you any exciting advice. I think all of the brands you're looking at offer reasonable quality for the price. The more expensive ones are indeed nicer. Loake 1880's are perfectly serviceable.

You should also consider herring shoes - which are made by Loake or Barker in most cases. I just bought the belgravia.

Any of those shoes would be fine, the colour is questionable however. Light tan is nice, but it can be tough to pull off on a regular basis, especially if you have a limited selection of good shoes. Make sure you have the standards first (Darker brown, burgundy, black) before venturing into tan territory.

For a businessman, the first good pair of shoes you get should be an oxford captoe in black, the Barker Chopin would be fine for that purpose.

I hope you tried or are planning to try these on. Cause your main concern is fit really. they all look nice. love the color of the barkers the styling on the C&J is my favorite.

Well currently have black cap-toe, brown and blue colours. I'm hoping to mate the shoes up with a light gray 3 piece suit or my navy 3-piece.

I'm also looking at getting a second pair (was leaning towards burgundy), but I haven't looked at the style I'd like yet.

Although my choice would be the C&J's then the Loake 1880's. Just my personal preference.
