Hope you read the link with an interview Mike's character, he's asked about a lot of the plot holes involving his character the past few episodes. He essentially said he personally didn't understand them either but it was up to the writers.
I found it pretty bizzare he let Walt get the bag for him. I think the writers were being lazy. They should have written it to have him want Jesse or Saul to get it, and after the call Walt finagles a way to assert himself as the one getting the bag. There was so much animosity between Walt and Mike it was also odd Mike let loose on Walt when he could've simply kept his mouth shut, grabbed the bag, and left. Inelegant. But having listened to the insider podcast on the episode, they used a first time director for the episode.
PS - After all this ****, it'd be pretty lame if cancer is all that gets Walt in the end.
I still can't believe that Mike let Walt get his go bag for him. Yes, he was pretty desperate, but it was still a huge break in the Mike character.
