I didn't know what Heys suitcase was, so I looked it up. I wouldn't advise getting orange colored suitcases: [IMG]
It's garish but while everyone else is pawing at various black clones , my wife can easily spot her orange suitcase as soon as it comes down the carousel.

My Tumi T Techs have been through hell and back and I have been amazed at how well they have held up. I love their FXT line, more higher end than the t tech.

I just saw this at a store in town and though it was one of the coolest suitcases I've ever seen. Supremely impractical, but supremely cool. Even though I'm not going anywhere, I was almost ready to shell out $750 to buy it. It's from Samsonite and designed by Alexander McQueen.

An actual body bag? Maybe you are inviting security to do a search.

I must admit that my first thought was "toilet seat cover."

Looks like an underexposed x-ray of someone's chest cavity.

I didn't think that... now I do. I'm kinda hurt (even though I don't own one), but you may have just saved me 750 bucks.

    Thanks... I guess. [IMG]

    Nice. Is that suede?

    Jon.

I am guessing this is a Saddleback Leather suitcase, in coffee.

Here's one with a little more taste, from the same company.

Those McQueen cases are absolutely hideous. Looks like something you'd see at Hot Topic. I bought my vintage 70s aquamarine cases off eBay for $75 total. I thought I'd never use them, but I use them all the time.

    And I also like this:

I have one of these and it is excellent, even if they do dent and scratch easily.

I do however like the plastic Rimowa I have even better. The plastic ones are extremely light, about half compared to a same size Samsonite, and not as conspicuous as the aluminium variety, thus more likely to end up where it is supposed to. They seem to be very durable as well, mine still looks almost new after a number of flights that in the past has required a new suitcase.

I'd never spend big bucks on a suitcase that gets checked in, it might get lost/stolen/scuffed up. But at least with a carry-on you can baby it and it won't be tossed around by baggage handlers. To me that samsonite ribcage suitcase is just about the coolest thing ever. Even in the bang the handle comes out of the spinal cord!

I travel a good bit. Spending good money on luggage is just plain stupid. It targets the bag for theft and it never lasts, even the fancy LV.

My advice: invest in a good laptop bag, a rollerboard and NEVER EVER CHECK YOUR LUGGAGE.

Also, never buy a dopp kit. Complete waste of cash. Buy a box of Ziploc quart bags. They fit in luggage easier and are far more functional all around.

Thats your idea of nice luggage. Ok I might have like it back in highschool when I did some serious drugs.

For carry on I like some nice leather luggage but for bags that I check I have a hard time handing over a beautiful leather luggage.

Floto makes some really nice stuff that is very resonably priced. I have there pisanto duffle.

I got a really good deal on some brooks brothers luggage that I will check in. I got such a great deal I bought 2 for when the first wear out.

I also have a beautiful garment bag I got on amazon.

Not to mention my aldo raffa briefs and duffle.

Basically I went thru a period recently where I was buying leather luggage as much as I can.

My absolute favorite is the aldo raffa bags. It's natural leather and each one has a fabulous feel to it. Makes it seem like something really special. http://www.aldoraffa.it/product.htm

OK I will shut up but I do enjoy buying nice luggage. [IMG]
