He would have given the death stare had I mentioned he looked like Mik Jagger. He only listened to classical music and despised rock and roll. He saved the mountain lion as a cub because he was going to be put down for some reason so he took in and kept it since it died. It was somewhat of a controversy locally because he kept it at his home which is 2 blocks from UNC campus and 3 blocks from Franklin St here in Chapel Hill. He fought and won to keep it there.

That's a really cool grandfather. I've always thought an Ashera cat would be a neat pet. Unfortunately, they cost about 20,000 dollars.

I have a dozen 2"x3" negatives of my grandfather and some of his buddies in the Pacific during WWII. Found them in an envelope when my grandmother died, he didn't remember them at all.

I need to pick a lab and send them off for cleaning and pro scans.

Please tell me he lived in the Ghimgoul Castle or whatever that thing is. That would make my day. I'll have to ask my wife about the lion as she grew up there and her parents have lived in CH for 30 years.

Sadly he did not live in the Ghimgoul Castle. Although he is buried in the cemetery near the Ghimgoul neighborhood entrance.
