Clarks Desert Boots

Does Clarks Desert Boots has same sizing for Britain and US? Normally leather shoes have sizing such as UK9/US9.5 but it seems Clarks do not have that kind of sizing system. Could anyone confirm if Clarks have international sizing instead of two localized sizings?

Tried on various pairs today. I've been measured at 8D, and think either 7 or 7.5 would work for me with Desert Boots.

At first, Beeswax in 7 seemed on the tight side but walking around afterwards, they seemed fine - I assume they'd break in some as well? The Clarks store unfortunately was out of Beeswax in 7.5, so I tried on the Oakwood in 7.5 - a little extra room in the toe, but seemed fine otherwise. However, that's also a softer and less rigid material.

I'll probably roll with the Beeswax in 7, just because I like the color the best and I hope it'll soften up some. But damn, that Oakwood material was really comfortable.

I've noticed the beeswax are tighter on me than my suede ones.

Also, did the price of these go up a little bit recently? Was looking to pick up another pair soon as mine are breaking down.

Can anyone recommend a good shoe cobbler in San Francisco that can resole with the Vibram Christy sole? Looking to get this done soon, Thanks!

willie's shoe service in los angeles can do this...you can mail your shoes in. no idea on SF though...

Does anyone know if DB's and Mali's have the same fit? I am wondering if anyone can provide a internal width measurement for a size 11 Mali, they aren't available locally so I am trying to figure out if they will fit. I am also interested in any online retailers that ship to Aus as the few I have found seem to only have dark brown suede or are out of stock.

EDIT: My best fitting shoes read Japan 29 EU 46 US 11 on the label. Checking that against size charts is confusing as EU 46 is apparently US 12 etc.

yea i don't really wear my tapered denim/pants with db's i wear them with the straight cuts. he does roll his pants/denim pretty high. i roll mine sometimes just a single roll and i always hear people mumbling that my pants/denim are too high.

Did you ever get this done? I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine. I usually go to Carlo's Shoe Service down on 3rd and Harrison. He's put the Christy sole on several pairs of longwings for me and does a decent job. It's about $60 and he can usually turn it around in a day or two at the most. If you did this post some pics. I've only seen one other person do it so far.

Is it worthwhile to resole/refurbish a pair of made in England Clarks desert boot?

I believe the color is the much-loved beeswax.
