I don't think the brogues go very well with a crepe sole. I don't think I've seen broguing work on anything besides a leather sole, in fact.

^^^ They will need to pay me to wear those boots.

I have seen much, much better attempts at casual footwear w/ broguing.

Ok so first post here haha. My aunt is coming over from the UK next month and is going to pick me up a pair of black leather Point Takens. I am having a seriously hard time picking what size she should get. She is telling me she cant get any half sizes so basically I wear an 8.5 in nike/vans snug and a 9 with a little room. I have a pair of chocolate suede wallys from 1999 which are a UK7 and a US 8 and they fit very very very snug, but not uncomfortable. Thats the only pair of shoes I have that is that small, all others are equally 8.5's and 9's. Basically she is either gonna get me a UK7 or a UK 8 and I need some help making my decision. Also I will probably be inserting a Dr Scholls liner so that may take some space.

After following this thread for quite sometime, I finally decided to pick up a pair while I was visiting NYC this past weekend. I ended up getting both the Beeswax and a pair in Taupe Suede. And for the record I went a half size down to a 10 from my usual 10.5 and they fit great.

Thanks for all the information everyone. I'm very happy with my boots.
