In England it is still improper to wear non-black shoes in the city, or to work, or to any event that begins after 6 pm, or to any formal event in the daytime. That used to be the case in America too, I believe until the 1960s, or later. Take that into consideration before you make such a narrow-minded statement. As an Englishman, I believe a pair of perfectly-shined, black oxfords to be one of the most important items in an elegant man's wardrobe.

I agree - mine are hardly worn...unless I put on some non-black laces for them to stand out.
High % of the people in the City of London do not know how to dress. They are very un-kept
in their black poly suits and black glue job shoes from Next.....

Try putting the same shoe , lets say an EG, in black and in chestnut (or burnt pine) for sale here and see how much you get for each.

Well that depends on where in the City of London you look. All kinds of people are employed there. Not many partners at Slaughter and May wear black poly suits, or shoes from Next. But they tend to wear black shoes.

The fact that you do not wear not wear black shoes without contrasting laces which make them stands out suggests that you have a particular, and perfectly legitimate, approach to dress. It is not everybody's approach. Most of the time I do not want me shoes to 'pop', or whatever.
