I have had issues with certain shoes that easily chip or scratch. Some shoes -- like my dark pin grain EG Dovers -- seem to chip the moment they touch the bottom of my desk chair or a piece of furniture. The chipping looks like a wood table with the varnish chipped off showing the natrual color of the wood. Other shoes seem to use leather that is a lot more durable and less prone to this sort of scratching and chipping.
In ordering new shoes, are there types of leathers that I should ask for or stay away from to avoid this happening? For example, is aniline likely to hold up better than crust (or vice versa)?
Thanks,
