Trying to keep my brain busy in times of COVID-19 so is Shoeshine Time!! until quarantine lasts.

Brand: Cheaney
Model: Alfred
Supplier: Herrings
Last: 125
Colour: Mocha, darkened with black Kiwi polish
Note: I was looking for a very very dark brown oxford and couldn't find a retailer that could deliver the Church's Consul in ebony to Peru, so I took the leap and purchased the Alfred, a magnific shoe.

When you say Kiwi polish, do you mean cream or wax? If you want to darken your shoes, cream does a better job cause it’s got more pigments. Wax sits on the surface of the leather and its darkening effects can easily be reversed by stripping it with Renomat.

I am not sure since in Peru we have only one option (named betun in spanish) but is clearly very pigmented.

Yours should be a hard wax:

Shoe cream should look like this:

kiwi products are not really recommended to maintain your beautiful leather shoes, but good if you don't have much choice...
have you tried to order Saphir products online?

Not necessarily, according to Pete who is the patina and finishing artisan at G&G.

I usually use the products that come as a gift with my shoes. Herrings, Pediwear, AFPOS, usually send quality wax with their shoes including Saphir. I only use Kiwi when I try to change (a little) the original colour.

this is the first time I hear that ... all the shoe specialists that I have read or seen on youtube, recommend cleaning products based on natural products, like beeswax for example , I mentioned Sapphire that I know and use but other brands use the same natural components, as in this excellent cleansing milk

not Kiwi to my knowledge

Handsome pair of boots but they're too tight across the instep. I have the same gaping issues with many chukkas.
thank you I like them ...
we do not quite. yes this last lacks a little height, but I have two problems, the first is the left foot which is stronger than the right foot, and it is at this foot that I have a little sore neck foot after 6 or 7 hours of wearing in a row. the second paradoxical problem is that only on my weakest right foot, that the inside guarantor which flexes and forms a small arc, as we can see on the photo, which aesthetically bothers me, but I spoke with other people who have chukka from different brands who confirmed that I have the same concerns.

yes in fact this concern affects all chukka of different brands.
but the leather starts to relax well, it's just that curb of the right foot that folds that I don't like

Another Shoeshinning Times post.

Brand: Shipton & Heneage
Model: Walpole
Manufacturer: Cheaney
Last: 12319

Note: My official minimalistic shoe, used in weddings and special situations. This wholecuts accomodate very well my feet, I run +/- 40Km per week and this shoes never given me an issue after a long haul. Wholecuts usually are mounted in slim lasts, this is not the case.
