I had to bump as I scored a nice Isaia seven fold today at C21. The counterstitching or counter-weave (is that an appropriate term?) is chocolate brown. But the tie is definitely red.

I like the tie on the left.

Reminds me of American Psycho:

"Oh Patrick, I knew it from when I saw you at the Christmas Party wearing that red Armani Paisley striped tie!"

i tihnk politicians wear it becaues it looks bold and powerful

red is a power color.

i think red ties can look great, even if everyone wears them

style isnt about being non conformist because after all when everyone becomes non conformist that is conformist!

The red tie has long been the lame choice, the lazy man's way, a sign that you don't care enough not to do the obvious thing. Is there any wonder that all politicians wear red ties as a matter of rote?

I have two decent ones, and one is solid grenadine, which almost doesn't count. The other is a Nicky woven, and it's pretty good. Red prints are in particular almost always atrocious.

So let's see your favorite red tie. He who posts the most acclaimed red tie wins the honor of begging Kent Wang to award him a pocket square for this non-contest that Kent has not endorsed. There may be another prize, announced later.

Sorry, completely forgot to answer this one.

The tie itself is from a local place, but you can find the same silk in different colors from Etro:

This tie is cool... is it a Leonard? Hermes? Ferragamo? or....

And that looks to be a kangaroo? or more likely, a fox? in riding gear? God I love this tie...

I find I have a lot of red ties. First batch are all wool; second includes (at left) Hober's version of BB #1 and a Hober grenadine, my favorite of the bunch.
