I just got a new suit back from the tailor on Monday afternoon. A couple of weeks ago I had I brought it to him with the tags still on and after a fitting I left it to him to bring in the sides of the jacket, cuff the pants, and cut off all the tags. Tonight I noticed on the left sleeve there is a small hole that I hadn't seen when I tried on the suit Monday. This hole could have been caused by someone tugging on the tags even before either or the tailor handled the suit. It also could have snagged on his bench or been cut by his scissors while he was working on it. The fact that he didn't mention it kind of bothers me. Since I didn't notice it before (I paid for the alterations and left his shop), is it too late to do anything about it? What's one to do in a situation like this?

Was it where the tag had been? Whether or not this is the case, I'd go back and talk to him about it. What's your sense of whether he'd own up to it or not, (if he'd actually do such a thing as tear the coat and then not tell you about it).
