saw the first Gran Coupe ad on TV tonight, releases 6/16 here. There's a gallery at the bottom of this article with both the M sport and the regular, somehow I think the regular non M-sport pack looks the best. That rental 650 I drove had the same forged 20's as the non-M in these pics, and they are awesome wheels in person. So much better than the new M sport wheels.

saw a TT RS on the way to Montreal, first live sighting
black, looked good as it came up on me
at first couldn't tell what it was, looked low and expensive
as it got closer saw the rings, for an instant thought R8, then it pulled even

if in the market for a hot 2 seater I'd give it a look

Well there is the Alpina B7, which for some reason I've been seeing more often lately. I saw 2 different ones in the past 2 weeks.

those are nice cars, and a low mileage 20-30k can be had for 40k, it was a 100k car
a very robust car
not real fond of the stickers though

Panamera or XJ? Which is the better large sporty sedan?
I'd take the Panamera over the XJ for a sporty larger car. It can be well optioned, but in typical Porsche style, for a heavy price as they nickel and dime you for options that are standard on most other cars.

I'm not a big fan of the XJ, it looks enormous. As much as I do not like how the Panamera looks, I'd take it over the XJ, at least it drives better.

They're both kindof ugly.

Saw a Jag XF today that someone had attached a leaper to. The car looked like it had a little tiny erection. Dumbest thing ever.

I've seen pics of the XJ with a leaper. Looked awful. TBH, from some angles I think the XJ looks good, but only from some. I tried to like the car, even considered the SuperSport, but in the end, I just found too many faults that altogether were deal breakers for me.

i actually just put in my resignation at Design Center California(VW/Audi Group) where i worked for just over 2 yrs. worked on a bunch of VW/Audi projects as well as a couple exclusive Bentley concepts and a Lambo concept. just accepted an offer that i couldn't refuse at Honda Advanced Design in Old Town Pasadena where i start next week. i'm sure all of you are thinking, wth?? leave VW/Audi for Honda?! all i can say is, the offer was that good.

Just something I've wondered, but how far ahead do car designers work? Like, when releasing a model, is the mid cycle refresh already designed and decided upon? When a car releases to market, is the next generation also designed by then, or by how much? I know the concepts for new models take several years to get to market, sometimes a decade or seemingly so...

It is fascinating stuff my cousin and his friends were all into that so I learned about it awhile back. Always love listening to their stories.
