Hi buddy, yes that's right. Most of the styles built on the 234 last offered via the Patina Service Program have now been replaced by the new 401 last, which is slightly slimmer at the toecap. Other than that, the sizing fits the same for both last. Also, do note that Carlos Santos' shoes are generally slightly more generous compared to other brands.

If I'm informed correctly the 160 last is also replaced by the 401 last? How do these two compare?

And how is the instep of the 401 last? The instep in the 160 lasted chukka boots was always too low for me (though the jodphur fits me perfectly fine).

Yes, that's right. The Chukka Boots are now in the new 401 last as well. The instep for the new last is actually higher. Hence, it should fit you much better now since you feel that the 160 last is too low.

And what about the tow area? I'm guessing it's wider than 160? In between 160 and 234 perhaps?

Here's a green beast ordered recently by one of our gents - Wholecut in Bosco Patina. Love how the green pops under natural sunlight, yet not being over the top.

Here's a pair in one of my personal favourite patina by Carlos Santos, the Guimaraes Patina, which comprises a mixture of red and brown hues.

Look at the silhouette of the sexy heel cups at the back of the loafers, simply gorgeous.

Carlos Santos Braga not sure what I can do for the discolouration and the color in some areas now is much darker than it originally was.

Did you do anything that affected the colour?

It could also be due to the nature of patina shoes, which can't be avoided. You may try using Saphir's BDC Creme Polish in Cognac and see if able to blend the darker areas.

Saphir Pate de Luxe Cognac is all I have applied on this shoe. Will give the Creme a try.

Thank you!!
