Don Van Vliet, "˜Captain Beefheart,' Dies at 69

69 is my favorite number. The Captain was a true original. Saw him and the band in Portland Oregon back in 1981 just after Doc at the Radar Station came out.

There had been so little news on him over the years. His health was terrible. The guy looked 69 on Ice Cream for Crow, and that was released in 1982!

'Safe as Milk' and 'Clear Spot' are both great and fairly uncomplicated.
