Wife is giving me a hard time about this but she has always been more traditional and conservative (it's what I love about her).

I want to wear this jacket to a good friend's wedding next week. I have confirmed that he will be in black and she will be in white. I am not in the wedding party.

Hastily put a white shirt inside the jacket to show contrast of the colours, i will not be wearing them together.

question 2... is the jacket white enough for a 'diner en blanc' that I have end of this week?

Thanks

Would you be as insistent on wearing this cream jacket if it were not a Tom Ford?

I'm with your wife. Your presence at a wedding is to show respect for the couple getting married, and your attire should be as sober as possible to reflect this. Unless the wedding invitation specifically mentions otherwise.

There should be plenty of garden parties, happy hours, horse races, etc. to break out the TF.
