Most fabrics are 60" wide. I am not sure exactly how much a vest would take for you. I always get one yard for a vest, and tailors tell me that that is more than enough.

Make sure you have the waistcoat fitted while wearing the trousers and suitcoat from the suit. You want to make sure that you get the top of the waistcoat where you want it in relation to the jacket opening and buttoning point and you want the buttom to cover your trouser waistband.

I'm looking into having a vest made, too.

Anyone have a good pic of a properly fitting vest?

Also, what kind of material should the back be? And is the "cincher" required in a bespoke vest?

I asked a tailor...was quoted about $100...does that seem fair?

(Hope this isn't a thread-jack...I just have some questions on the same topic and didn't want to clutter the board with a new thread)

Also, the suit I'm looking to have a vest made for is a 3button 2 roll single breasted suit.

There should be no problem getting a vest made for this suit, right? (i.e. is there such thing as a 2-piece suit that would look off w/ a waistcoast? ) thanks
