Buying my wife a goldendoodle: good or bad idea?

Getting mauled by a goldendoodle? That's like getting your ass kicked by a platypus.

Here's hoping it leaves a gnarly scar, just to make the story more fun.

Oh, I am sure there will be a conspicuous scar. My arms are covered with scars, mostly inflicted by my last dog, Cyrus. The "gnarliest" scar was inflicted by a neighbor's Great Dane. She sprang up playfully and ripped my forearm badly with one of her claws. She was a sweet dog. After I got Cyrus, she and he became good pals.

Actually, male platypuses have venomous spurs on their hind legs. No human has been killed by platypus venom (dogs have been killed), but getting spiked by one is a nasty experience. Recovery can take a long time, and after-effects can linger for years.
