I'm only 5'5" and wear a size 8 4EEEE shoe. The reason I mention my height is because it places a restriction on the style of shoe I should wear - it's best to wear low profile soles and thinner uppers so that it doesn't look like I'm wearing clodhoppers on my feet which accentuate my short stature. I'm looking for something under $175 and with a boxier toe box, as opposed to a pointed one. I have a feeling Allen Edmunds at 3E will not be wide enough. I also don't know anything about shoes or style. I've been wearing Crocs for the past year and a beat up pair of New Balance trail runners as well. Today, I got a pair of Clarks un.Sheridans in 8 4E ($90) for everyday wear:

And (gasp) Bostonian Andovers extra wide($70):

I can still return them. I live near San Jose (1 hr outside San Francisco) so I don't have access to a lot of the fine shoe places that you guys in NYC have.
