breaking down leather boots?

My leather frye boots are breaking in nicely, but very slowly through heavy wear. Is there anything I can do to them to break the leather in more and give it that rugged worn look?

If you have woods around you, go for a stomp. Don't be afraid of the dirt, mud, and rocks. Do it every day or so for around 30-40 minutes. Call it exercise.

if you just want that patina, go for the alcohol + decoloration route.

bec in January. The amount of salt in the snow here will destroy anything made of leather in no time.

Well I don't want to DESTROY them. I want to make them look nicer from my point of view. Plus they weren't terribly expensive, got them on ebay for fairly cheap.

Thanks for those of you who gave me constructive input. I'm going to try a little sand paper too and see how that works out.
