What do you think of boots with a slim suit, a la TAT? I mean like beatle or chelsea boots, not army. Just a clean pointy one in black. no distressing, just plain.

Perfectly okay, I do it quite often when I wear black chelsea boots with a grey suit. The only thing to watch out for is that the trousers are long enough. There is nothing worse looking in the boots-suit combo than seeing trousers that are too short.

On the sartorialist a few weeks ago he had a young guy in a blue suit with deck boots that looked kinda cool. Obviously, not a classic sartorial look but it worked nonetheless

It's most annoying to constantly have to re-adjust one's pant leg over the boot as you stand up, after sitting down.

+1. Chisel toes work well, but go pointy if that's your thing.

I love it in theory, but it's not something that I do personally. I've got a lot of patterned dress socks, and I like pulling them out whenever I'm wearing dress pants or a suit. But it looks great on the right person.

I wear Chelsea and Jodphur boots with jeans all the time.

I have a slim Dries navy suit that I usually wear with black AE Tauntons. It's a great look.

That's exactly why you need a longer trouser leg when booted! Also seeing the shaft of a boot and/or even the collar of the boot when wearing a suit looks really, really naff!

I don't see why not. I'm not sure what the cut of this suit is exactly like but this photo from the Sart is one of my favorite suit-boot looks.

I guess it was a blazer, jeans and boots. My bad. Still looks cool
