I'm currently wearing Nudie RADS over Justin cowboy boots. So, to address the topic of the thread, yes, completely.

Also, if we're going with the whole dress-for-your-job thing, if I'm in marketing, does that mean that I should dress like a character in Mad Men? If so, then so long, suckers; I'm off to MC to be lambasted repeatedly over the pitch of my sleeves!

The only (male) person I can think of pulling this off today is Nick Cave. Though Prorsum did make some cool psuedo-bootcut trousers.

Agreed.

Having said that, I had a small bootcut phase at one point. People on this forum tend to forget that they were the *thing* for a short while.

Never understood bootcut jeans. Boots always look better with straight/slim jeans anyway. Bootcuts are part of the twats uniform in my neck of the woods along with striped dress shirts worn untucked and pointy brown shoes.

As original and informative as this -

actually i'd say a guy wearing flares constitutes "pretty original" here, but i digress

It's just getting old. "LOL douchebags wear bootcuts!! they're not like us at all! i can judge the content of someone's character by their hem measurement! haha" Lots of people wear bootcuts, most of them happen to not post here. Lots of douchebags wear bootcuts too, but douchebags come in all shapes, sizes and styles. Not only that, I don't like universal rules. "Oh, X cut/design is NEVER appropriate" is almost always bullshit made up by people who can't pull X look off or simply don't have any interest in it.

For most people's style here, tapered looks better, for sure. However, this doesn't mean that it never looks good, and I don't see why anyone should feel restricted to a single cut, anyway. Seems boring.

QFT

At this point "douchebag" just means "someone who is not like me, who is still in some way successful".
