Would you think a rubber strap watch works with a suit in the modern environment?

  • Yes in any settings (even for black tie if it has the right colour like black rubber)

  • No, but maybe if smart casual

  • No, leave them for when you are dressed casual

Just curious, I have the blue rubber strap and the exact watch below (photo is from the strap manufacturer All Wrist).

Watch forums like watchuseek I feel has a more liberal take on rubber watchstrap when worn with more conservative styles like business formal.

That and the fact that you see plenty of rubber watchstrap on high end watches, which are technically sport watches but closer to dress watches in use in the modern age, I am yet to meet someone wearing Patek Phillipe (like the Aquanaut), Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet etc... for sporting activities for example.

To my eyes it works with a suit especially in a more relaxed modern environment.

What's people's opinion on wearing rubber straps with a suit in the modern era?
