I put a black pen in my back pocket after an exam and wasn't thinking and then sat on it causing the top to come off and black pen to bleed all over my back pocket on my julian reds that are raw.

Is there anything I can do that won't ruin the pocket?

I might just overdye them black

Rubbing alcohol is brilliant at removing pen stains.

Stick a rag or folded up paper towel directly on the stain, then wet a second rag in rubbing alcohol. Dab the wet rag on the fabric behind the stain until the ink has seeped completely into the first rag/paper towel.

I've always heard hairspray, which worked for me.

I got a little carried away in a workshop and got some red perm marker on my jeans... it's been very resilient so far.
