I know it's a Socal thing, but you shouldn't have to pay for your own birthday party. Right?
It depends... I paid for my own birthday at the French Laundry, but it was also only my closest friends who end up paying me back by treating me to equally delightful dinners with their wives or girlfriends.
Since I am paying I am also looking at places that have both semi-private rooms/tables and can do a $60-$90/pp prix fixe menu for me. So far most of those places seem Asian themed (Morimoto, Megu, Wakiya, EN Japanese Bistro, Buddha Bar, Buddhakan).
^ per esempio at En Japanese Bistro $75-$100 charge depending on the room and I think they had 2 prixe fixe options of either $65/pp or $85/pp for a group event.
