I'm currently in the process of ordering a bespoke briefcase, but I'm having trouble finding bridle leather for it (usually ordered from UK, but due to Brexit it's more difficult now), does anyone perhaps know any craftsmen that sell it, preferably in Europe? Or perhaps there are some alternatives (maybe even better ones?) If so, I'd be obliged to anyone who could provide links.

And of course, always looking for advice on what to look for (aside from leather) when making a bespoke briefcase :) Is there anything in particular I should keep in mind?

And yes, that'd be my first bespoke briefcase so I'm in uncharted waters here :)

Chester Mox makes bespoke briefcases. Bellanie, the company's co-founder and sole artisan, trained under an Hermes craftsperson.

Thanks! I've found a craftsman, but now I'm trying to find suitable leather for the briefcase itself (and maybe other elements, such as something for the lining and metal parts).

Sedgwick makes bridle leather. If they don't sell direct, you can buy it through a merchant such as buckleguy.com

I will say, if the craftsperson can't source the right materials, they are probably not going to make you a good briefcase.

100% would not buy bespoke leather goods from someone who cannot source their own materials.

Just to clarify - the craftsman that I'm in contact with ca source their own materials, but alas not bridle leather from UK - ever since Brexit it's pretty problematic.
