Be honest, do you have trouble getting a central tie dimple?

This may be the 10th time I've posted this. To make a dimple, regardless of the type knot you tie, do this. When you bring the large blade up the back of the knot to bring it thru the knot, stop and smooth the blade flat. The fabric of the tie needs to be perfectly flat before pulling the blade thru the knot. You can smooth out the fabric on your finger if you need to. This method makes a dimple every time unless your tie has an inferior lining and has no body. If you need extra help to make the dimple place your index finger on the center of the blade just under the knot and shape the dimple as you pull it thru.

^ +1. Not sure why people find this so difficult to do. I am no sartorial expert but I get a killer dimple every time using pretty much the method despos described, regardless of tie or knot.

Here are a few of mine. Sartorially imperfect perhaps, and I definitely need to size down my collar thanks to some weight loss, but no dimple trouble! These pictures were taken on consecutive days.

I have found a successful dimple depends upon the knot as well as the tie. I was rarely able to do it with four-in-hand, but hit it every time with a Pratt knot.

That pocket square is too studied.

This is exactly how it is for me as well.

Not too much with getting it, but sometimes the edges roll around to the back and my dimple vanishes a few hours after tying. Especially with more slippery ties. Curse you, dimple.

Some times I feel like a dimple sometimes none. Depends on my knot and mood. I will always re-tie if the some part of the knot is unsettling.

Sometimes a perfect dimple, ofttimes not. I have the feeling it often depends on the tie. And, yes, I will retie a tie on occasion to get a better dimple.
