these days it seems that all the top american online stores won't ship 90% of the good brands out here directly. When I last bought boots a few years ago I had no such issues.

yeah, trusnow have really dumbed it down with pretty much all their brands; better to grab some if you're ever overseas. definitely cheaper than getting them here, even if on sale.

Is it just me or have dub monks become a sort of an epidemic - like cockroaches. Seeing way too many of them around, usually hanging out cafes near financial organisations wearing well groomed men.

Meh, the real epidemic is shoes that are black, square-toed, cemented, and corrected-grained. They're basically CANCER

Any recommendations for slim seersucker pants? Only ones I've found so far are J. Crew (ha).

I have a Brooks Brothers pair, too big for me (and you too I would imagine, they are a 36", if anyone is interested) - but maybe Brooks Brothers or Lands End might have some.

Bah! I'm wearing a pair today. Can't say I've noticed them being an epidemic in Melbourne, although I've noticed them in a few more shops these days.

Funny, blahman, I've hardly noticed them outside of the SF catchups. I'll keep a lookout. I did see Jack London selling some and maybe a couple of the other local shops have started stocking them as well so that may explain it - they can't all be following #Menswear postings on Tumblr.

Cue music: I've been looking for monks in all the wrong places ...

I spot a few every week. Always tan to mid brown calf. In fact spotted a pair this morning at Freshwater on Southbank.

Tobs: I have no idea what you're talking about I have never heard of let alone seen such things as square toed shoes.

Hello first time poster long time reader. I have purchased a stag anter shoe horn from the US and it has been in customs for 4 weeks. Has anyone ever had problems like this before with customs?

I have been planning to buy a pair of dub monk for some times now. Most probably in dark brown (possibly burnished).I think dob monk is a bit too sleek; so still hesitating. To be honest I haven’t seen that many dob monks in Sydney conservative business dress. I think its more Melbourne ’ish !:D

Sorry if you found the question funny. Was asking as a lot of the posts i read here are about shoes, and other clothing items and accessories comming in from overseas . If it is the wrong forum to ask in i am sorry.

jester78, the way I read it is that with such an esoteric item, this is probably the one forum you could ask that question in - definitely the right place

FWIW, I've not had any such issues but then again, I've not bought any items like that.

I know double monks are kind of a silly #menswear cliche now, but disirregardless, I like them and I think they look great. So double monk yourself post haste, I say.
