1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Nice.
I sometimes think I could live with a black punch captoe (adelaide type) and a dark brown one and a bunch of slightly different shades of brown suede chukkas.

I've only got two Dainite soles but I find them more treacherous - particularly on slippery timber deck, - and hard underfoot - than leather.

    How do you find them?

Never found dainite to be more slippery than leather, but agree it can be harder on your feet. Not entirely sure why.

Mine aren't worn down much, and I suspect that contributes, but I've actually slipped arse over tit on a few wet wooden decks.

They feel very very hard to wear underfoot.

I think they are a northern hemisphere snow/wet weather shoe.

What are favourites for messenger bags?
I'm looking to spend up to probably $600 max.

Have seen some nice ones from Coach....Mr Porter had a nice Mulberry one but a little out of my $$ bracket.

It's for work; attire - suit.

    Cheers for any recommendations!

^ Messenger bag with suit = confusion + crushed jacket

Often seen with dark suit + white shirt + no tie.

If you don't want to wear a suit then don't wear one.

Agreed that a messenger bag + suit is confusing. I'll also add that while I love messenger bags, I find them pretty impractical, really. I'm considering moving back to a backpack - big enough for my stuff, but doesn't cause my shoulders/back to become sore.

If you wear the strap diagonally, you stand a chance of ruining your lapels and tie.

    Sigh.
    Ok, my mistake.
    I don't want a backpack though. I'm not a fan.

I guess I'll keep looking for something more along the lines of a briefcase type bag.

If youre in Melbourne, this place has some nice satchels/briefcases last time I was in. Vintage leather for <$100. Nothing on their site, though:

Interesting - you've basically quoted my shoe purchases to date (although not in order)... I guess I represent a case of Styleforum osmosis!

I have a semi-brouge in burnished calf, a black toe cap oxford and some chocolate brown suede chukkas. The chukkas get the most wear as they work with denim as well as chinos and trousers, whereas the oxfords are only worn with chinos (occasionally) and suit trousers.

I must admit to a pair of RM Craftsmans (in black) as well which work great with denim and polo, etc

I've always liked the idea of a single or double monk, but never bought myself to pull the trigger on a pair. But, I guess I have a slightly conservative nature which I like to think I'll overcome someday soon...

Blackthorn Leather. Get in touch with Andy for customisation.

But as advised by the elders, do not sling it across your suit.

Thanks mate. How reputable are FragranceX though? That seems like a great price on the 118mL!

I had a look in Harrold's today during the lunch break - the Creed fragrances were on sale, but only very few, and mostly womens I think. They didn't have Green Irish Tweed on sale or in stock, by the looks of it, which made me feel a lot better about my DJs purchase. Also, the Tom Ford private blend stuff was still full price (395 bucks for 100mL) unfortunately.

On an unrelated note, what do you fellas think of this watch:

    http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/Nav-B-Chrono-II-Black-Special-Edition,665.html
    http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/Nav-B-Chrono-II-black-DLC,458.html

I think it's a beauty, and well-priced, but I'm worried at 44mm it might be a bit too gigantic considering a Junghans Max Bill is what I normally wear (and a size that suits my wrist).
