Like and dislike are choices, IMHO. You like or you dislike, you respect or you do not respect, and you make your choice and generally people reciprocate. Consider that these decisions and circumstances change - you probably don't keep up with your friends from grade school, and some of us become friendly later on with folks we previously wouldn't talk to.

Not everyone will be a close friend, many will end up being casual acquaintances with whom you'll have a lightly-worn connection. There is nothing wrong with being amiable with people in this circumstance. Yes it's superficial, but so what?

And if you can't bear smiling, you don't have to. If you can't be warm with people, you don't have to. You ought to at least make an effort to connect even if it's a momentary good morning - how are you today? Reciprocity is the norm in human relations, so if you're not reaching out to people, people will not reach out to you, and your work engagements will generally be unpleasant and short-lived.

If you know what your doing I would honestly go in and announce I was the best there has ever been and willing to prove it, then I would prove it. It works better then you'd think.

Can you give some examples of what exactly these complaints about your attitude were? Do you have anything more specific someone has said?

hes clearly one of those people that just gives off a wierd vibe. probably cant take direction well and gives off a snobby/bad attitude towards people. i dont even know him and i hate him.
