wow. too bad there's no way i could justify the purchase at 1K. granted, as long as i didn't gain or lose too much weight, i'd never need to visit Friar Tux again. that alone could be worth 1K. also, is it just me or is the sizing more along the lines of a 39 R/L.

I agree its perfect. Has side vents which I like, though the purists may disagree. If it was my size I'd buy it even if I only wore it once a year!

No, I think you're right. I think DB jackets are often cut a little bigger in the shoulders, but the 32.5 length is a little long.

I don't think so. This measurement is taken from the top of the collar. 32.5 from the top probably means 31 inches from the collar seam. I wear a 39L and my suits (none DB mind you) measure 32-32.5 from the base of the collar to hem.

Actually, my dinner jacket is pretty much the same. I bought it at the Ralph Lauren outlet in either Boston or NYC some 7-8 years ago. There was a discount of another 20% on the ticketed price of 99 USD.

One of the few times I've been attracted to a double breasted suit jacket

agreed. the formality (at least the way i see it) of a double breast seems particularly suited to a tuxedo.

I also wear a 39L in most makes and I agree with everything written here about sizing.

This is a spectacular DJ and has inspired me to get a 6 x 2 DB when I'm ready to buy one. Wow!!!

Am I correct that a ventless DJ is more proper than one with side vents? If so, how does one sit down in a DB with no vents?

Gorgeous indeed, but I wonder why the composition is a 99/1 Wool/Cashmere?

Could that 1% Cashmere really matter?
