Like you my boots are a half size smaller than my normal shoes, I tried my normal size and they were definitely too big. I am wearing them at the moment and at that size they are very comfortable.

I'd say definitely not. I have both in 10.5G and if anything the 555 is a slightly snugger fit.

How about this non-standard Dark Brown Cottesmore?

It's marked as a 9D, so I guess it might be US sizing.

Tried on it feels like a UK 8E. Certainly narrower and carries less volume than a standard UK 8.5 E

is it just quality of leather?
the yearling seems to offer more color choices.
