Hi guys. I'm wondering about my Cougars button holes. They seem to be unraveling and the two middle buttons sometimes come unbuttoned. Is this normal for Ande Whall denim? I emailed Ande, but he might be on holiday as he has not replied.

it's normal for button holes to loosen up, but that looks really bad. How long have you had em?

I've been wearing them regularly for about 2 months. Not everyday, but 4-5 days a week. These are Shrink To Fit. Not sure if that matters.

You're probably tugging too hard when unbuttoning them, that'll stretch them out

My APCs and my old Grifters both have that problem. I haven't got around to fixing it yet.

It's a very simple fix.

^^ I got a reply from Ande. He's been really busy producing jeans. He said not to worry about. It's the weft and it will eventually weed it's way out. Commence wearing of the Cougars! Yessss! The jeans are great. They fit like a glove. More like a nice shoe that is the perfect size. I put them on and it's like a suction cup. They've conformed to my body. Just plain awesome!

Hoping someone could explain this to me please. I've read Ande's guide buy TTS, seen the same advice in this thread. But the site also says that you can expect 1-1.5" of stretch in the waist. If I want a snug fit (wear w/o belt, no sag) into and after the break in process, should I go down one size? I've measured some of my nudies that have streched a little beyond where I'd like @ 16" exactly, flat measure, which makes me think the 31" would be good after the alotted stretch.

If it matters, looking at buying Rakers. Appreciate the help!

That a really good summary of how you want your jeans to fit. I would email Ande and ask him too.

As a room of thumb, never size down for andewhall.... if you size up one from your nudies, it should be perfect. the denim doesnt stretch anywhere near as much as nudies....

Those button holes look fine you should see mine. Actually now that I have a camera...

They've been like that for at least a month or two. No worries. And yes, never size down with Ande Whall... That torrid affair ended in a costly return for the both of us

I didn't properly account for rise and messed up my measurements.

+1 My Cougars are finally beginning to show some wear and are turning a beautiful shade of blue. They've been worn 3-4 days a week since early '09 (no soaks or washes yet).
