Can I shorten the sleeves on a leather jacket? Can any tailor do it? Is it much harder/more expensive than a regular (wool) jacket?
thanks

It depends on the detailing of the jacket. If there is a seam or zipper at the end, it may cause issues. On many jackets, though, the leather is just cut, folded and rubber-cemented to the right length, and then the lining sewn in. This is actually significantly easier than a wool jacket. I would think many tailors could do it, but call and ask them.

I think it requires more specialized equipment, needles etc.

I wanted sleeves on a leather jacket shortened, but my two regular tailors wouldn't touch it. I was refered to someone who specializes in leather alterations. I believe it costed $30, which is more than I would normally pay for a similar alteration on a wool jacket.
