Allen Edmonds Sizing : 0 Last vs 5 Last

Here is another sizing question but i have read most of the other posts without finding my answer.

Would you size down a full size of half size in length and 1 size width when getting a shoe on the #5 last?

Im normally a 8D in Allen Edmonds and i sized down to a 7E but my little toes are getting squished on the end. Should i try the 7.5E or 8E? I dont have an AE Store in my country and this trial and error method is getting expensive.

I think i have a true 8D foot with a high instep because i have a pair of Bel Air's on #0 last which fit good on length (width is a little tight) but the closest i can get the gap between the laces is 1" and then it really hurts on the arch.

I have two 8.5D AE Shoes and they are way too big. Even with insoles its very roomy all around and the laces touch.

It sounds like you have a high instep. I do as well and eventually gave all of my 5 lasted shoes away due to being unable to properly close the laces.

With that said, I would have worn the same size on the 0 as the 5 except the toe box was too narrow for my comfort.
