Someone has replied on this saying they had success from going down half length and increase width size,

Generally, does increasing width change the length of the shoe as well? i.e. 7.5EE -> 7.5 EEE?
It shouldn't.

I think the first thing I would recommend is trying other lasts - everyone is kind of hung up on the 65 but it may not be the best choice.

On the 65 I tried 6.5E, 7D, 7.5C and 8B and they fit so closely I could probably go with any of them. Before you go up the width, I would absolutely make sure what you have is completely broken in. Going up the width won't affect the length but the room in the heel will increase significantly.

I'd say 13B - length-wise won't be slightly big anymore with the Dalton, but width I would say is a little more.  I'm assuming you have no arch issues - that will change things significantly on the Dalton fit.

Never tried the Rogue but heard that runs way larger overall.

In the 13B, I could go with walnut, bourbon, or chocolate. I saw that there is a 13A available in oxblood (which would be my first choice in colors).
I'm so tempted to try that 13A.
If the 13A didn't work, could I exchange them later for a 13B with no upcharge after the sale ends?

am i the only one that wears the same size in every shoe?
Are you saying you tried every single AE last, with multiple variations on each? I would be surprised if you were the same size for the 65 as you were for the 114 for sure, many of the Italian Collection, the 809, etc.

Again, assuming you have no arch issues at all, I guess you could try the A width - the 511 runs significantly shorter than the 65 but the toebox is definitely larger/roomier, so they might work.

I bet they would exchange them, but can't say for certain.

If you could buy one pair of Daltons, which would you choose:
Walnut, bourbon, or chocolate?
My current boots are are black (and brown) AE Cascade and a brown grain AE Malvern chukka.

I thought bourbon was the best, but now I'm thinking walnut. It depends on their use. I'm not a fan of the chocolate due to a lack of depth in the color, but I think they would work well with a suit. The bourbon will look great with a suit and with jeans, and walnut is amazing with jeans and very limited with a suit, ( I passed on a walnut dress belt since I won't be wearing them with a suit) So I say bourbon if you want some suit mileage, and walnut if you don't. Also if you're looking at seconds I would bet the bourbons will be tiger striped.

7 pair since December. 65, 108, 333 and whatever the maritime is. I'm a 10E on all. They all fit slightly different, but not enough to change sizes. I've decided that the 65 is not the best fitting last for me, which is unfortunate, since there are so many more nice choices on that last. I'm sticking with 108 and 333 from now on. They are the best fitting for me.

You're not the only one w/ that feeling about the 65 last. It still escapes me why they make nearly all their staple shoes on the last they describe as "best for long narrow feet"

Just got my Fifth Street Boots in Black and damn are they sexy. Can't wait to rock these with a suit. Pics below. But I ran into some trouble with the lacing. I usually do the bar lacing with my other AEs, but those all have six eyelets and these boots have seven. Any ideas?

Beautiful @peppercorn78
!  Any noticeable flaws?  I will be getting at least a pair of Dalton's before the tent sale is over.  Just have to figure out how to hide them from my better half.

Also maybe the Tan Leather Gobi's for $97... :lookaround:

Her: "Another pair?!?!"

You: "Baby, remember the pair I needed to exchange?"

Her: "I've lost track of all your shoes, I can't keep up with which ones are new or exchanges or sold."

You: "That makes two of us" as you shrug and walk out of the room.

I wear an 8.5E in Park Avenue/Fifth Avenue, 9E in Strand/McAllister/Sherveport, 9D in leeds, and 9D in Dalton, if that helps.

My TTS is 9D. Dalton has a bit more room in toebox with a similar length to the 65 last, I find.

Can you elaborate on why you upsized the length from PA -> Strand? aren't they essentially the same 65 last ? I 'm so confused!
