Its a great deal if you can find something you want.

Not sure of brand, but they're leather and not too thick. Picked up tongue pads too, but don't think I'll need them. J

and I love AE's customer service (just got off the phone) ... over the weekend I ordered McGraw suede loafers and a pair of Strawfut's, both said "up to 8 weeks." The McGraw's shipped and charged yesterday (so note, "up to 8 weeks" can mean 3 days). Today 20% sale notice. So I call in and not only get the Strawfut's cancelled and then re-ordered with the discount, but they refunded the 20% that had already charged on the McGraw's. With that $90 add total savings on those two pairs, along with the further 20% off, think I'm off to do some more shopping ...

I ordered a pair of Amok's last Thursday as well. Instead of calling though I emailed customer service to see if that order can be amended to receive the 20% off, considering the shoes are slated to be shipped in 8 weeks. Maybe it would make more sense to call tomorrow, instead of waiting for an email response.

(since my order included both possibilities) what the SA on the phone told me today:

• for pairs not yet shipped/billed, it was canceled and re-ordered with the discount
• for pairs just/already shipped/billed, a refund for the discount made

Perfect. I mean $147.00 is a pretty good deal, but $117.00 is fantastic. Every little bit counts.

Received a pair of Black Hills today. Got them on Ebay, I believe they were seconds, but can't find any major defects. The distressed areas and cracks on the right shoe are slightly more pronounced than the left, so maybe that's it. Fortunately they fit quite well, and much better than the Park Ave's I have, oddly enough on the same last. I can't wait for the snow in Toronto to melt to start rocking em.

Question regarding the Amok's. On the website they're obviously on clearance, but it still says "Handcrafted in 8 weeks". Is this actually the case, or will they arrive sooner (i.e. is this just standard blurb AE slaps on everything)?

Perfect, I actually placed an order for a couple of those exact insoles in size 8 last week! I wanted to try a pair in my RL Lindricks, I am kind of on the fence if I need one or not and if I do it will need to be thin.
