guys, on the walden or westchester loafer, are you guys sizing down to prevent heel slip? In length, width, or both?

what the hell, can you explain the process and products you are using to get that level of shine. I can't seem to get this level of shine on my AEs or cheaneys

ok. this may not be a question to be asked at this thread, but i still can't find a good answer after searching on the site.

So here it is,

I just got the randolph in 11D in the mail yesterday and when i tried them, my heels felt loose, but the width is fine.

I did went into a store and tried on both 10.5D and 11D. In the 10.5D, my ball feels a little tight when I was trying them on and i have to fight a little to get my foot into the shoe. But my heel didn't feel as loose as 11D, but still just a slight loose.

when I tried on the 11D, it's really comfortable everywhere and I didn't have to fight to get my foot into the shoe.

I measured a 10.5D in store with my toe touching, or just a little over that 10.5 line.

But when I asked the SA, he told me 10.5D should stretch over time and he told me it really depends on person fit but i just want a nice fit. Because when he tried to pinch my toe he said he really couldn't tell a difference in the two sizes.

P.S. I also tried on the player shoe where I find my feet very happy in a 10.5E, if that helps.

Should I go back and exchange for a 10.5D and let the stretch do the magic? or 11D is just fine, and the heel slip will go away as I break in the shoes?

I have the Westchesters, I can not recommend strongly enough that you try on various sizes before buying. That shoe is much different than most AEs, even others on the same last. I am a 10 in all AEs, I wish I would have sized up for the Westchesters. They have been pretty brutal, tough to break in and don't seem to stretch as much as other AEs.

How about the Kenilworth blucher? New for this year, I picked up the brown.

Note, they didn't look like this out of the box :).

No matter what I do, I can't get my shoes to look like that.
