I'm regretting my Magnanni 'Miro' Double Monk purchase of yesterday from Nordstrom.

Got them at full price for $330.00 after tax.

Going to return them and bite the bullet on those AE for Brooks Bros.

With the extra change i want to see if i can get me a pair of Neumoras. (Still want double monks)
Where do you find those AE's? Any brooks brothers?

If you are interested in Walnut Strands, call Earl or Kyle at the AE outlet in Leeds, AL. Phone number is 205-699-6566, they have the Brooks Brothers version on sale right now for $129.00

This.

Gentlemen, the 130/pair price at AE Outlets applies to ALL Brooks Brothers models as well as the Ralph Lauren models. Yes, that's right. This includes the RL Saunders, Slaton, Sanderson, Stratford, etc. Hurry!!! This deal is too good to be true.

Any way to tell what last all these are on? I only have experience with the 5.

Hello all, I'm new to SF and a AE fan. I just polished my two pairs earlier today and thought I'd post some AEporn.

Player's in Walnut

Burton in Chocolate

I'm a AE noob and only recently picked up my first pair, the Player's, over the holidays while they were on sale at Nordstrom. The Burtons were found on ebay for 40 bucks and I just received them yesterday. Anyways, I hope to learn more from all the AE pros here!

Anyone have any experience with AE's boat shoe offerings? I like the looks of the Harbour in brown, though I know their cemented and made in the Dominican Republic. Would y'all skip AE for boat shoes and just stick with something like Sperry's?

I have the AE Eastport and really like it. I have Sperry's and Sebago's also. The last Sperry's I bought a couple of years ago are really poor quality - much worse than the Sperry's I bought 5-6 years ago. The Sebago's I recently purchased are vastly superior to the Sperry's. The Eastports are much nicer than the Sebago's - more comfortable, lined inside, and the leather is much nicer.

Granted the Sperry's were cheapest, the Sebago's next higher priced, and the AE's most expensive, but the difference is not much. The Sperry's were about $80, the Sebago's were about $100, and I got the Eastports on sale for $175. I would say the Eastports are easily twice as good as the Sperry's. Maybe not twice as nice as the Sebago's, but nicer.

I use my Sperry's for car washing, etc. and figure they will last a couple of years. The Sebago's and Eastports are used for less strenuous activities and are holding up well.

I emailed AE to ask if it's possible to have a MTO pair of Bayfields in shell cordovan. Any one ever asked them if that is possible?

No, but I've found that getting to know an SA at one of the AE stores can be helpful. They can sometimes finagle MTOs that you can't get by calling the factory.

screw you guys. I was trying to not buy anything this month.

Can anyone provide pictures or a link to what the RL allen edmonds look like?

I'm a 11.5C in the Strands, can anyone suggest what size I should get?

This is a valid point. Unlike with traditional laces, colored ones need to be incorporated into your outfit. It becomes another accent color that can't just be ignored.

jjr4884: It's too bad you don't like red because I find it can work pretty well as long as the red is deep and the shoe color works with it. I think it works well with bourbon shoes and some combination of very dark, subdued greens somewhere else in the outfit (like a tie). Red is too wide of a range of colors to rule out by itself, but if it doesn't work for you, it's best to make that call like you have.

Deep red, cranberry, maroon, burgundy, etc... I would wear all day long. Red, as in... the scuderia red on the website, is not something i could see doing for work. Hell, I even got a few wears out of the two holiday laces, the red/white and the red/green. Lol the red and green laces with my cordovan strands looked unreal! But back on topic, red laces are on my blue neumoks. For what its worth, I rarely wear the color red, and when I do, its usually a t-shirt. I have one or two shirts with red in it, so the casual look with the neumok work just fine for my red fix ;)

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of all of the sale models?

Like Chris I also have the Eastports and agree with what he says. They are much nicer than the others and better quality IMO, and my go to shoe in the heat of the summer. July and August I wear them almost every night when I get home from work and on most weekends. Mine took some breaking in to be comfortable but once they did are fantastic, and I expect they will hold up for a very long time. For canoeing and portage or wading wet while fly fishing I have an older pair of Irish Setter boat shoes that are more technical than sporting so those are what I use for more demanding rougher use, the others would never hold up to that except maybe the Eastports. It is almost 15 below zero F today so talk of boat shoes is cruel and unusual punishment. The dog days of summer will be here soon enough however and I look forward to breaking out the Eastports once again.
